Job Summary
The Senior Director, Corporate Giving and Community Relations, is responsible for creating strategies and leading activities related to Corporate Giving, which includes fostering positive relationships with community members, non-profit organizations and GPC teammates.
Responsibilities
- Develop, lead and execute a comprehensive corporate giving and community relations strategy for GPC, including assessing current strategic framework; developing annual giving, community engagement and volunteerism activities; building and maintaining partnerships; and leading special events.
- Establish and maintain GPC's global charitable giving budget, including allocating and distributing funds; conducting regular impact and accountability reviews with partner organizations to measure program effectiveness; instituting a formal request process; and offboarding the activities that do not meet company objectives.
- Establish guidelines and oversee financial commitments related to corporate giving and community partnerships, including grant policies, compliance, agreements and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, Human Resources and other departments to align community engagement and giving initiatives with company policies and goals.
- Continue to build goodwill and coordinate community outreach to promote GPC's image in communities where GPC operates.
- Evaluate and foster relationships with community organizations and non-profits for partnership and sponsorship opportunities.
- Actively engage in the community by representing GPC at key events.
- Oversee global development and implementation of community-related programs.
- Develop and deliver regular impact and progress reports to senior leadership, leveraging grant data and outcomes to improve programs.
- Foster a culture of volunteerism and philanthropy throughout the company, including developing and deploying a strategy for teammate engagement.
- Partner with and function as part of the Strategic Communications team to promote and amplify GPC's corporate giving and community relations initiatives.
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in corporate philanthropy and community engagement, applying innovative approaches to maximize impact.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in leading corporate giving and community relations, preferably with a Fortune 500 company.
- Ability to lead and influence multiple stakeholders (internal and external).
- Strong organizational skills to manage project plans, communications and other deliverables.
- Financial acumen to manage a large budget.
- Experience in designing and implementing community outreach programs.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally, written and in public forums.
- Prior experience leading a 501(c)(3) organization is preferred.
