Description
The Department of Chemistry in the J. D. Patterson School of Natural Sciences at Ouachita Baptist University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track biochemistry faculty position. The anticipated start date for this opportunity is August 1, 2026. The candidate’s primary teaching load will include teaching biochemistry, chemistry and non-majors science courses. The candidate will also provide undergraduate academic advising, supervise undergraduate research and honors projects, and contribute to the overall academic environment of the department and the university. A successful candidate will exhibit excellent teaching in the context of a liberal arts education and scholarly activity in the field while demonstrating aptitude and inclination for engaging undergraduates in mentored research. Preference will be given to candidates with classroom teaching experience, but candidates with professional clinical experience will also be considered. The successful candidate will provide evidence of a collegial commitment to professional, university, departmental, and community service; and a Christian commitment consistent with biblical standards and the University’s vision, mission, values, and statement of faith as a liberal arts institution. Rank and salary are dependent on qualifications. All qualified candidates will be considered, but preference will be given to those who have a doctorate in Biochemistry or a relevant field as well as post-doctoral experience.
