Bryant University’s School of Health and Behavioral Sciences (SHBS) invites outstanding and highly motivated scholars to apply for a full-time tenure track position in the Biological and Biomedical Sciences (BBS) Department. We seek a dynamic faculty member in biological sciences who is passionate about teaching, student mentorship, research, and contributing to the growth and vitality of our department. The ideal candidate will bring positive energy, a collaborative spirit, and a commitment to excellence in the classroom, meaningful engagement in departmental service, and establishing an independent and productive research program in our science laboratories that actively involves undergraduate students.
The successful candidate will be a dedicated educator willing to teach core courses across the biology major, including lower-level science classes for both majors and non-majors in our general education program, as well as upper-level courses in their area of expertise. We welcome candidates from diverse research backgrounds in biological and biomedical sciences and particularly value teaching versatility, enthusiasm for working closely with students in both classroom and laboratory research settings, and active participation in initiatives that support departmental growth. Preference will be given to candidates who meet all primary qualifications and who also have exposure to or experience with integrating emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, into their research or pedagogy.
The School of Health and Behavioral Sciences offers undergraduate majors in Biology, Exercise and Movement Science, Health Sciences, and Psychology, a graduate program in Physician Assistant Studies, a 3+1 B.S. to M.S. in Healthcare Informatics, and a Doctor of Clinical Psychology (PsyD). Requirements
Qualifications:
- PhD or equivalent in biological sciences, biomedical sciences, or a closely related field
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching across a range of biological science topics, including introductory and general education courses
- Willingness and ability to teach core courses in the biology major at both lower and upper levels
- Evidence of or strong potential for establishing a research program that involves undergraduate students
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Experience with or interest in integrating technology into teaching and research is valued
- A commitment to interdisciplinary teaching and research, and to fostering an academic environment that welcomes and supports individuals from a broad range of backgrounds and experiences
