Location: University Hospital
Position: Clinical Nurse - Ambulatory Financial Navigator
Shift: Full-time 1.0 FTE Mon-Fri 8:00a-4:30p
Position Overview:
The Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Transplant and Immune Cell Therapy Program is a close-knit and collaborative group striving to provide high quality care for our patient population. Our center provides over 300 adult stem cell and CAR-T treatments annually. The Clinical Nurse - Ambulatory Financial Navigator is responsible for coordinating with the rest of the healthcare team to help remove financial barriers for the patient's transplant/CAR-T treatment and after care. The Clinical Nurse - Ambulatory Financial Navigator does this while ensuring patients receive the highest level of financial coverage while supporting optimal reimbursement for the institution. This position will work Monday thru Friday, normal business hours with no weekends or holidays and is currently hybrid of in office and remote with the possibility of going fully remote in the future.

Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and communicate effectively to the patient and care team cost and quality issues related to the stem cell transplant/CAR-T therapy evaluation, work-up, or treatment itself.
- Communicate and work collaboratively to resolve conflicts with healthcare team members, business/managed care teams, insurance company representatives, human resource departments, and patients in order to provide critical and timely treatment for the patient.
- Balance clinical care with financial considerations to promote cost-effective treatment.
- Manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Develop and implement creative solutions to unique or complex situations.
- Utilize personal computers and various software for documentation and care coordination
- Work independently and complete job duties autonomously.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to prioritize critical cases.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
- Associates of Nursing (ASN) required.
- Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Licensure & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Additional advanced life support certifications may be required per department policies.
- Specialty certifications may be required depending on department/provision of care.
• Experience & Knowledge:
- 3-5 years of clinical work experience preferred.
- Knowledge of personal computers, word processing, and database software.
- Understanding of medical terminology, medical record requirements, regulations, and policies.
- Insurance & billing experience preferred
- Bone marrow/stem cell transplant experience preferred
