- Director, Cardiac Operations

About the Role:
The Director of Cardiac Operations is a key strategic and operational leader responsible for advancing the mission of Cardiology across clinical care, research, and education. Reporting to the Chair of Cardiology, this role serves as the principal administrative partner driving growth, optimizing performance, and ensuring operational excellence across all programs.
You will collaborate closely with physician leaders, senior executives, and cross-functional teams to shape the future of cardiac services through innovative program development, strong financial stewardship, and high-impact operational strategy.
What You’ll Do:
Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Drive major initiatives across clinical, research, and academic Cardiology programs, including service line development and innovation (e.g., digital health, special populations)
- Partner with leadership to develop and execute strategic, business, and operational plans for new and expanding programs
- Serve as a key liaison to internal departments, community partners, and external agencies
Program & Administrative Oversight
- Lead core operational areas including program management, revenue cycle, compliance, fellowship and research administration
- Oversee administrative support functions across clinical, research, and educational programs
- Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and systems to ensure efficiency and compliance with institutional and regulatory standards (including ACGME)
Financial & Business Management
- Develop business plans for program growth, capital investments, and new initiatives
- Partner with finance leadership to ensure strong fiscal performance, including revenue optimization and expense management
- Oversee performance reporting and analytics across inpatient, outpatient, research, and contract services
People Leadership & Culture
- Build, lead, and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
- Partner with HR to oversee workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, and employee relations
- Champion a service-oriented culture that delivers an exceptional experience for patients, families, and partners
Requirements
What You Bring:
- Master’s degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare operations, including personnel, financial, and resource management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience managing cardiac medical departments preferred
