Description
- Complies fully with all NCAA, conference, and Indiana University rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
- Provides strategic direction and oversight for sport science operations, including the research, validation, and integration of testing protocols across all performance disciplines.
- Conducts physiological, biomechanical, and functional testing to evaluate athlete's capabilities, identifies key performance indicators (KPIs), and informs individualized or team training strategies.
- Designs and implements testing and monitoring systems in collaboration with interdisciplinary support teams (IST) to assess athlete performance, health, and readiness.
- Provides guidance and develops best practices to enhance and integrate sport science protocols into team operations, training programs, and periodization strategies.
- Maintains sport science resources, including equipment, training spaces, and budget.
- Ensures the safe, legal, and ethical collection, management, and sharing of athlete and team performance data.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/ WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Sport Science or a closely related field and 3 years of documented full-time professional experience beyond the internship level OR
- Master's degree in Sport Science or a closely related field and 12 weeks of applied experience (480 hours), which may include internships, fellowships, graduate assistantships, or full-time professional roles OR
- Doctoral degree in Sport Science or a closely related field
Required
- CPSS National Strength and Conditioning Association Certification Upon Date of Hire
- CPR/AED Certification Upon Date of Hire
- Standard First Aid Certification Upon Date of Hire

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires sedentary work as well as extended durations of moving about the workplace. It requires the ability to move objects and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and the ability to discern between various objects and devices and to position patients. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
