As the Director of Golf Instruction, you will be responsible for developing an environment that creates excitement for internal and external guests. This individual is required to oversee all golf instruction conducted on the property and assists golf operations staff as deemed necessary by the Director of Golf Operations. The Director of Golf Instruction also has the ability to exercise good judgement in a variety of situations - utilizing strong written and verbal communication skills while balancing multiple competing priorities.

Experience Required

Class A PGA or LPGA membership in good standing with demonstrated expertise in golf instruction and teaching methodologies.

Essential Responsibilities

 

• Deliver internal and external guest service the Nemacolin way. Goes above and beyond - whether for an associate or guest.
• Responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to other employees and coworkers to provide superior guest service.

 

• Hires, trains, motivates, evaluates and directs employees, in order to ensure that employees receive adequate guidance and resources to accomplish established objectives.

 

• Works with the Director of Golf Operations to communicate the goals and objectives of Nemacolin.

 

• Responsible for private and group golf lessons - including clinics.
• Determines work activities necessary to operate golf operations, advises and guides management in regards to golf operations and related activities to ensure the highest level of expertise.

 

• Monitors and evaluates department activities and projects in order to ensure the successful completion of assignments/accomplishment of department objectives.

 

• Develops a teaching philosophy that is in accord with all other resort standards.

 

• Mentors and trains golf associates - ensuring the teaching philosophy is consistent - specifically amongst professional golf management interns.

 

• Develops and customizes schools for members and resort guests.

 

• Maintains general appearance of the Nemacolin Golf Academy, practice facility tee and storage areas.

 

•  Establishes department standards, guidelines, and objectives and maintains the administrative processes such as budget and staffing to ensure proper planning and efficient operation of department.

 

• Other job duties as assigned.
