Overview

TPC Jasna Polana was built in the early 1970's as the country home of J. Seward Johnson and his wife, Barbara. Designed by world-renowned architect Wallace Harrison, no effort or expense was spared in its design and construction. The result is an exquisite neoclassical country villa that captures the timeless elegance of the past while incorporating the comforts of the present.

In the mid 1990's, when the decision was made to convert this magnificent private estate, Mrs. Johnson and her family partnered with the PGA TOUR's TPC Network. With a history deeply rooted in the game of golf itself, the TPC Network was the only organization with the history and vision to turn Jasna Polana into a truly unique golf and social club.

A historic private club near Princeton University and a stunning American legacy property. A 222-acre, upscale private golf club and mansion, the Club features an 18-hole golf course designed by Gary Player. It is considered "one of the most coveted private club memberships" and "among the top private golf courses in New Jersey." Player reportedly once described Jasna Polana as "the finest course of its type" in the world.

The club also offers a 3.5-acre practice facility, with a 60,000 sq. ft. practice tee, four putting greens, practice bunkers, event spaces, tennis, gardens featuring a reflecting pool, 2 private lodges and over 100 works of rare fine art.

Experience Required

• The TPC at Jasna Polana is seeking a qualified PGA Member in good standing with a history of proven performance at the highest level. The successful candidate will have served at a similar type of private club and will have substantial experience as a Director of Golf and/or Head Professional, preferably at a private, for-profit country club. The candidate must be able to develop and maintain a good rapport with the Club's members. In addition, they must be able to provide leadership for all golf operations personnel: assistant professionals, golf operations staff, and outside operations staff. The Director of Golf is directly responsible for all outside golf revenue booked at the club, and this position is very sales focused to drive revenue at the club. The successful applicant must ensure that the golf experience at the Club for all members and guests is one that is memorable and meets the highest standards.

• Minimum experience of three years' experience as a Director of Golf/Head Professional preferably at a private, for-profit facility.
• Demonstrated dedication and passion for the industry
• Technically proficient in all aspects of Golf Operations
• Proficient with Microsoft programs; outlook, word, excel
• Proficient with Golf Genius
• Strong sales focus on driving golf revenue

Essential Responsibilities

The Director of Golf will oversee and manage the total golf operation, reporting to the General Manager. The scope of the position will be all inclusive to include supervision of all assistants and golf operations staff, the Golf Shop, the instruction program, the practice facility, and all other related functions. This is a year-round position.

The position will have responsibility for assuring that budgets and financial management of golf operations are managed well and in conjunction with the goals of the club. Teamwork is a key component of success for this position, including maintaining a close and professional relationship with the Golf Course Superintendent to ensure that Golf Operations are effectively coordinated with other functional areas. It is expected that the successful applicant will assist in maintaining and enhancing the prominence of TPC at Jasna Polana in the golf community.
