Overview

The Director of Golf serves as the strategic and operational leader for all golf operations across Weymouth Country Club and Fox Meadow Country Club, overseeing two premier private clubs under Arcis Golf. This role is responsible for driving excellence in golf operations, tournament programming, merchandising, instruction, and staff leadership while elevating the overall member golf experience through consistent service standards, innovation, and financial performance.

The Director of Golf will be a visible, service-driven leader who embodies hospitality, professionalism, and operational discipline - creating a seamless "two clubs, one membership" golf experience while maximizing participation, revenue, and member satisfaction.

Experience Required

Experience & Qualifications

• PGA Class A Member in good standing (required)
• Minimum 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in private club golf operations
• Multi-facility oversight experience strongly preferred
• Proven success in tournament programming, instruction, and merchandising growth
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and cost controls
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop teams
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and hospitality skills
• High level of professionalism, organization, and accountability
• Proficiency in club management software and POS systems
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and evenings

Essential Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations

• Provide strategic oversight and day-to-day leadership for all golf operations at both clubs
• Set service standards and ensure consistent delivery of exceptional member experiences across both facilities
• Lead, develop, and evaluate all golf operations staff including Head Golf Professionals, assistants, instructors, and support personnel
• Foster a positive, accountable, and service-oriented culture within golf departments

Tournament & Programming Management

• Design, schedule, and execute a comprehensive annual tournament and event calendar for men's, women's, junior, and couples golf programs
• Create innovative, high-engagement programming to drive participation and retention
• Oversee league structures, clinics, camps, and instructional programs
• Ensure flawless execution of all competitive and social golf events

Instruction & Player Development

• Establish best-in-class teaching programs, clinics, and player development pathways
• Maintain high-quality private lesson, junior golf, and group instruction offerings
• Support PGA Professionals in growing teaching revenue and participation

Merchandising & Retail

• Direct retail strategy including product selection, pricing, merchandising, branding, and seasonal promotions
• Manage inventory control, vendor relationships, and merchandise profitability
• Develop creative promotions and logo-branded merchandise programs

Financial & Business Performance

• Prepare and manage annual golf operations budgets for both clubs
• Drive revenue through rounds, instruction, leagues, events, and merchandise
• Control cost of goods sold and operating expenses
• Analyze KPIs and develop action plans to improve financial performance

Member Experience & Engagement

• Serve as a visible ambassador to the membership, building relationships and trust
• Partner with Membership, Events, and Food & Beverage teams to create integrated experiences
• Proactively manage feedback, service recovery, and satisfaction initiatives

Facility & Course Coordination

• Work closely with Superintendents to ensure optimal course conditioning, pace of play, and playability
• Establish tee sheet management, booking policies, and pace standards
• Coordinate seasonal opening/closing and course improvement initiatives

Brand Standards & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all Arcis Golf policies, PGA standards, and safety procedures
• Maintain licensing, certifications, and reporting requirements
• Champion Arcis Golf culture, values, and brand standards
