OverviewPosition Overview:
Morton Golf LLC, a premier golf management organization operating four renowned golf courses in Sacramento, California-Haggin Oaks, Bing Maloney, Bartley Cavanaugh, and William Land-is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Instruction to join our team. The Director of Instruction for Morton Golf is primarily focused on player development which encompasses all efforts to introduce, educate, retain, and advance golfers-ranging from beginners to advanced players-through instruction, practice, competition, and enjoyment. It's not just about improving swing mechanics or lowering scores; it's about fostering a lifelong connection to the game, while connecting the golfers to all aspects of Morton Golf's business (retail, green fees, range, food and beverage, etc.) The position will focus on Haggin Oaks, Bing Maloney, and William Land.

- Talent Identification- Discover and nurture high-potential players for competitive pathways.
Experience Required
- Multiple years of teaching and coaching experience, both group and individual lessons/programs (youth and adult)
- Multiple years of club fitting experience
- PGA / LPGA Member or Associate in good standing
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively communicate, motivate, and inspire team members at all levels of the organization
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze data, develop budgets, and make data-driven decisions
- Flexibility to work a variety of hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Outstanding written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Comfortable with public speaking.
- Thorough understanding of swing fundamentals, ball flight laws, athletic performance, and technology associated with its measurement.
- Education - College Diploma preferred

- Builds strong relationships with existing and new golfers

- Must have the capacity and interest in learning new skills and be able to continuously grow personally.
Essential Responsibilities
Key Components & Approximate Breakdown of Job
- 50 % - Coaching
- Both individual lessons and group programs
- 30% - Coach Mentoring and Youth Recruitment
- Mentor Morton Golf's other coaches in both technical coaching skills but also the player development mindset and program development
- Identify youth golfers in all programs as to what their next steps and programs should be and create system to alert them of proper next steps
- 10% - Advertising and Brand Building to Grow Lesson Department Revenues
- Work closely with CRM department on yearly / monthly plan and execute on plan
- Grow corporate clinic opportunities
- Grow high end golf school type opportunities
- 10% - Administrative Duties
- Emails, phone calls, direct meetings with staff, etc.
Benefits
Benefits:
- VACATION - Accrues at 3.08 hours per biweekly pay period, must work 1 year before use.
- SICK LEAVE - 40 hours per year, effective 90 days after hire
- HEALTHCARE - Eligible First of the month following 60 days. Morton Golf LLC pays a portion for eligible employees
- RETIREMENT/401k - Morton Golf has created a non-mandatory 100% self-funding 401k retirement service with the Merrill Lynch Company for its employees. The employee has a direct relationship with Merrill Lynch and is in full control of their personal investment strategy with Merrill Lynch.
