- Director of Operations
Description
Are you a passionate animal welfare leader ready to make a real difference for cats and the people who love them? Stray Cat Alliance is looking for a dynamic, mission-driven Director of Operations to help lead one of the country's most impactful feline rescue organizations, and this role is anything but ordinary.
As Director of Operations, you'll be at the heart of everything that makes Stray Cat Alliance tick. From overseeing day-to-day animal care and medical programs to shaping the culture of an entire team, you'll be the operational engine behind a high-impact organization. You'll partner directly with the CEO to drive strategy, refine programs, and ensure that every cat--and every person who walks through the door--receives the highest standard of care and service.
This role puts you in command of a talented team across programs, clinic operations, and veterinary medicine. You'll mentor, develop, and inspire staff to reach new heights, building a workplace culture grounded in compassion, professionalism, and continuous improvement. You'll also play a hands-on role in building out the next generation of the organization's staff: shaping hiring decisions, onboarding, training, and team development.
On any given day, you might be updating SOPs, reviewing KPI dashboards, supervising a community adoption event, stepping in to resolve a complex customer service situation, or collaborating with the Development team to tell the stories that move donors to action. You'll manage budgets, maintain compliance with funder and partner contracts, and submit data to national reporting bodies--all while keeping your eyes on the bigger picture of what it means to save lives at scale.
This is a role for someone who thrives in the dynamic environment of animal rescue--someone who can hold both the strategic vision and the operational details at once, and who finds deep purpose in the intersection of animal welfare and community impact. You bring at least five years of hands-on shelter management experience, strong leadership instincts, and the organizational savvy to keep a complex, multi-program operation running smoothly and efficiently.
If you're energized by meaningful work, fueled by a love of cats and community, and ready to lead with integrity and heart, Stray Cat Alliance wants to hear from you!
