Location: Based in Helena or other locations in Montana, some travel required
Reports to: Executive Director / CEO
Salary range: $80,000-$90,000; Bonus plan based on meeting or exceeding annual revenue goals

Position Overview
MTFP is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Revenue & Growth to lead corporate sponsorships, advertising sales, and branded campaigns with civic institutions, nonprofit partners, corporate organizations and state and national associations. This is a new and pivotal role for our organization as we expand our earned revenue strategy and develop creative ways to leverage our growing, engaged statewide audience for sustainable financial growth.
The Director of Revenue & Growth will be the key driver of earned revenue growth, working collaboratively across the leadership team to identify, structure and secure high-value partnerships to meet revenue goals. This role will help build long-term value across our digital news products and events, while complementing MTFP’s newsroom and market growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and secure corporate sponsorships and advertising sales across our digital products, newsletters and events to achieve revenue targets.
- Prospect, cultivate and maintain high-value strategic partnerships with potential corporate partners and advertisers, including foundations, associations and agencies statewide.
- Create compelling sponsorship packages that meet the specific needs of clients and align with their marketing goals to build strong relationships with new and existing partners.
- Personally drive sales efforts from initial contact through execution, providing hands-on management of sales fulfillment, quality control and campaign reporting.
- Collaborate across departments to develop and refine systems to manage revenue growth and ensure seamless execution of sponsorships and advertising campaigns, increasing value for our clients.
Revenue Growth and Innovation
- Identify and develop mission-aligned earned revenue opportunities for our current product portfolio.
- Experiment with new revenue-generating ideas, such as paid partnerships, exclusive content offerings and audience-focused initiatives.
- Utilize data and analytics to refine strategies and maximize impact.
- Monitor and report on revenue performance, providing regular updates to sponsors and MTFP leadership.
Requirements
Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in digital sales and marketing, business development or corporate sponsorship development.
- Demonstrated success meeting and exceeding revenue goals.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
- Creative, strategic thinker with the ability to design and execute innovative revenue initiatives.
- Data-driven approach to decision-making and performance measurement.
Preferred:
- Experience building and managing high-value client relationships.
- Familiarity with CRM tools, organizational tools such as Airtable, and digital advertising platforms such as Google Ad Manager.
- Understanding of the Montana market, including key industries and the local media and nonprofit landscape.
- Alignment with the mission and values of MTFP.
Compensation:
Final offer amounts will carefully consider multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise and location, and may vary from the amount above.
