Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of potable water and wastewater
services. - Serve as the City’s primary liaison to MWRA, DEP, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.
Manage the construction, operation, metering, and billing of approximately 15,000
customer accounts. - Oversee lead sampling and service replacement programs in accordance with DEP and
MWRA requirements. - Develop and manage the department’s annual budget and establish revenue rates.
Lead a skilled team, set strategic goals, and champion safety, training, and customer
service. - Secure grants and funding opportunities to enhance infrastructure investment.
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in water and sewer system maintenance and operations, with at least four years in management.
- Massachusetts Drinking Water License Grade 3 “In Full” (Grade 4 preferred).
- Wastewater Collections Certificate Grade 4 preferred.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, lead staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver exceptional public service.
