Description
Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare is seeking a skilled and motivated Medical Dosimetrist to join our dynamic Radiation Oncology team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work in a progressive department that values advanced technologies, collaboration, and compassionate, patient-centered care. Our department is centered on a Varian ecosystem and utilizes three linear accelerators, Bravos HDR, and a full suite of Eclipse, Elements, and Radformation software. You will be joining a dedicated team of five Dosimetrists (FTE and flex), four Physicists, and three Radiation Oncologists.
Clinical equipment and software you will be using and should be familiar with include:
Linear Accelerators: Varian TrueBeam with Identify, Edge with ExacTrac Dynamic, and Novalis Tx (to be replaced by Ethos).
Brachytherapy: Varian Bravos HDR.
Treatment Planning: Eclipse (with RapidPlan, MCO, HyperArc) and Brainlab Elements, supported by Radformation tools (AutoContour, EZFluence, ClearCheck, ClearCalc) and Velocity.
Oncology Information System: Aria and Epic.
Your Role:
Generate high-quality, efficient treatment plans for a wide range of techniques including 3DCRT, IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, and SRS.
Collaborate closely with Radiation Oncologists, Physicists, and Therapists to support optimal treatment delivery.
Contribute to clinical protocol development, process improvement, and peer review activities.
Support student Dosimetrists and Therapists while promoting a learning-friendly environment.
Reports To: Chief Physicist (JC: 243402)
Supervises: None.
Requirements
Required Education:
Associate degree in Medical Radiation Dosimetry or a related field (e.g., Biology or Physical Science).
Preferred Education:
Bachelor’s degree in medical Radiation Dosimetry or a related field (e.g., Biology or Physical Science).
Required Experience:
Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Dosimetry program or equivalent clinical experience.
Preferred Experience:
Prior experience in a Varian-based clinical environment.
Proficiency with Eclipse, Aria, and Radformation tools.
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Required Certification/License/Registry:
Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) credential from the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) or eligibility within 12 months.
