We are looking for an experienced Finance Director to lead financial operations within the real estate sector in New York, New York. This role requires a strategic thinker who can balance high-level planning with hands-on management of financial processes, while collaborating closely with senior leadership. The ideal candidate will excel in communication and leadership, driving financial performance and overseeing a dedicated team.

Responsibilities:
• Manage profit and loss (P& L) reporting and ensure accurate financial documentation.
• Oversee monthly financial closings and ensure all processes are handled efficiently.
• Conduct detailed variance analyses to identify trends and discrepancies.
• Develop and manage budgets and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of reporting materials for both internal stakeholders and external clients.
• Address billing and accounts receivable requests, ensuring smooth financial operations.
• Supervise the cash application process and ensure proper allocation of funds.
• Lead and mentor a team of 3-5 staff members, fostering growth and collaboration.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to provide insights on real estate financial matters.
• Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support business objectives.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance, with a focus on financial reporting and operations.
• Expertise in facilities management and commercial or corporate real estate.
• Strong understanding of operational reporting and monthly close processes.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a team, driving results in a collaborative environment.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the confidence to interact with senior-level staff.
• Strategic mindset paired with the ability to dive into detailed financial processes.
• Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Experience managing billing, accounts receivable, and cash applications.
