Position Summary
Blythefield Country Club is seeking an energetic, relationship-driven Membership Director to lead the Club's membership growth and engagement strategy. This full-time, salaried position is exempt from overtime and reports directly to the General Manager / Chief Operating Officer (GM/COO).
The Membership Director is responsible for driving new membership sales for both Golf and Social membership categories, overseeing membership marketing and outreach efforts, managing incoming membership inquiries, coordinating new member onboarding and orientation, hosting new member mixers, and supporting overall member relations initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Membership Sales & Growth
- Develop and execute strategic membership sales plans to achieve annual membership goals
- Generate and manage leads for Golf and Social membership categories
- Conduct club tours and personalized sales presentations
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospect inquiry to onboarding
- Track sales performance, pipeline activity, and conversion metrics
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and current members
Marketing & Outreach
- Collaborate on and implement marketing strategies to promote membership growth
- Oversee digital, social, print, and event-based membership promotion efforts
- Develop referral campaigns and community outreach initiatives
- Maintain membership materials, collateral, and promotional messaging
New Member Experience & Engagement
- Coordinate and lead new member orientations
- Plan and host new member mixers and welcome events
- Serve as a primary point of contact for new member integration
- Support ongoing member engagement programs and retention initiatives
- Work collaboratively with club leadership and department heads to enhance member satisfaction
Reporting & Administration
- Maintain accurate membership records and sales data
- Prepare regular membership and sales reports for GM/COO review
- Monitor membership trends and recommend strategies to improve recruitment and retention
- Support club metric tracking and strategic planning initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, or related field preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in sales, membership development, hospitality, or private club environment preferred
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales goals
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Excellent organizational and follow-through capabilities
- Experience with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Professional demeanor and ability to represent the Club at community and networking events
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends for events and member engagement activities
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $60,000-$70,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience
- Commission Structure:
- New Member Sales Commissions
- Sales Overachievement Incentive Commissions
- Potential Annual Bonus based on Club performance metrics

Minimum Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during tours, events, and club functions
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally (event materials, signage, marketing materials)
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer
- Manual dexterity for computer and phone usage
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and in group settings
