Position Overview
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) Consultant provides independent clinical consultation and nursing oversight services to support medication practices, including resident self-administration of medications, within a licensed SUD residential treatment setting. This role functions as an independent contractor, not as an employee, and works collaboratively with program leadership to support safe, compliant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical consultation related to self-administration of medications in a residential SUD setting.
- Review and advise on medication-related policies, procedures, and practices.
- Provide consultation to clinical leadership regarding medication safety, health concerns, and regulatory expectations.
- Review medication documentation and practices for compliance and risk mitigation.
- Participate in medication-related reviews, incidents, or audits as requested.
- Coordinate, as needed, with external prescribers, pharmacies, or medical providers.
- Provide staff and resident education and consultation related to medication safety and best practices.
- Maintain all required professional licensure, certifications, and liability insurance.
Independent Contractor Status
This position is a 1099 independent contractor role. The Consultant is not eligible for employee benefits and is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and licensure.
Compensation:
$70–$100+ per hour range depending on experience
Requirements
Consultant Qualifications
Required
- Active, unrestricted New Hampshire APRN/NP license
- Experience with medication oversight and clinical consultation
Preferred
- Experience in SUD treatment, behavioral health, or residential programs
- Familiarity with medication self-administration models
- Experience supporting licensed or regulated healthcare programs
