Description
The Occupational Therapist will assess, diagnose, develop IEP goals, and provide OT services to students according to school-based OT guidelines. The Occupational Therapist will provide consultative services to assure students can access and benefit from educational programs. This is an itinerant position which requires travel to multiple school districts within the Cooperative boundaries. Will participate in Evaluation Report Meetings and IEP meetings, plan & implement treatment of IEP goals, write progress reports, and complete reports and meetings while adhering to timelines. School districts served include Shepherd, Huntley Project, Custer, Hysham, Pioneer, and Wyola. Use of Cooperative vehicle, Yearly membership for AOTA is paid for, Medical Coverage or Tax Shelter Annuity (403b), and Montana Teacher Requirement System. Must pass background and fingerprints checks. Submit Cover Letter, Resume, 3 Professional Letters of Reference, Transcripts, and license(s)/certifications.
Requirements
This is an in-person job to provide direct services to students needing Occupational Therapy in a school based setting
Requires travel to multiple school districts based on OT caseload
Maintain current Occupational Therapy license
Comply with and follow Office of Public Instruction regulations, Montana state occupational therapy licensure regulations, & the American Occupational Therapy Association code of ethics
Screen & evaluate referred students by standardized and non-standardized procedures selected to identify performance levels
Participate in Evaluation Report Meetings and IEP meetings
Plan & implement treatment (develop IEP goals) and/or consultative programs from eligible students as stated in the IEPs
Write & submit quarterly/semester/trimester student progress toward meeting annual IEP goals
Suggest, design, construct adaptive equipment and devices needed for students
Provide formal/informal in-service programs for teachers, parents, & other school staff
Provide Director with weekly & monthly schedules or any changes in schedules
Maintain student referrals, record keeping, reporting recommendations
Complete evaluations in timely manner & provide reports to ER teams and IEP teams
Provide Medicaid billing information & therapy documentation in timely manner
Works cooperatively with staff, students, parents, and school district personnel
