- Orthopaedic Hand and Upper Extremity Surgeon
Description
Marshall Orthopaedics, a university-affiliated physician group, is currently seeking qualified candidates for two hand/upper extremity orthopaedic surgeon positions. This recruitment supports two complementary opportunities within our department: an academic-based position at Cabell Huntington Hospital and a primarily clinical position at St. Mary’s Medical Center, both located in Huntington, West Virginia.
The academic position at Cabell Huntington Hospital is based at our primary teaching hospital and academic medical center and offers a practice focused on the subspecialty of hand and upper extremity surgery, with involvement in resident and medical student education and scholarly activities through the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine.
The position at St. Mary’s Medical Center offers a predominantly clinical practice model with a focus on hand and upper extremity surgery, without an expectation of academic participation. This role is well suited for candidates seeking a high-volume clinical practice while maintaining access to the resources and support of a large, integrated health system. However, if desired, this role can also offer limited involvement in resident and medical student education and scholarly activities through the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine.
Marshall Orthopaedics is affiliated with the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine and supports an ACGME-accredited orthopaedic residency program training four residents per year. Due to continued growth in clinical volume and regional demand, the department is recruiting additional hand/upper extremity surgeons.
Marshall Orthopaedics offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including university employee-based benefits. Compensation is nationally benchmarked and competitive with peer academic and hybrid practice models.
Applicants must have successfully completed an ACGME-accredited orthopaedic surgery residency and a fellowship in hand surgery. Applicants must be board-certified or board-eligible at the time of application and eligible to obtain an unrestricted West Virginia medical license.
