- Program Director, Dental General Practice Residency
Description
The Program Director is responsible for ensuring that the education of trainees and quality of care provided by the program is consistently excellent.
They are responsible for ensuring that the residency/fellowship program is compliant with all accrediting body requirements. In addition, the Program Director performs duties as the Medical Director of the Dental Center concurrent with Program Director responsibilities.
The Dental Clinic is in the center of our campus and serves the Akron community, located at 75 Arch Street. The Dental Center offers in-office services that include routine screenings and cleanings, acute care, as well as restorative and complex procedures.
The general practice dental residency program is one of 20 residencies and fellowship programs, involving 250+ house staff, home to 1,200 beds, and a Level 1 Trauma Center. Residents will have the opportunity to work alongside and learn from many general dentists and specialists, including oral surgeons, endodontists, and periodontists.

Candidate Requirements
- DDS/DMD degree
- Completion of an accredited Advanced Education in General Dentistry or General Practice Dentistry program
- Familiar with the Council on Dental Accreditation (CODA) program requirements
- Unrestricted Ohio License or willingness to obtain
- Commitment to quality care in a patient centered, team-based environment
