About KOLO:

KOLO 8 News Now is the ABC and Telemundo affiliate television station serving the Reno/Sparks area, Northern Nevada, and parts of eastern California. KOLO broadcasts seven hours of news weekdays. We are also dedicated to serving the community through KOLO Cares, partnering with area non-profit organizations.

Job Summary/Description:

The Sports Director is responsible for the daily operations and strategic planning of the sports department at KOLO. They also serve as the anchor/reporter and producer for daily sports content in newscasts and on digital platforms. This role demands high-energy on-air talent, strong storytelling, and extensive knowledge of sports.

Directing coverage strategy, shooting/editing video, posting content to digital platforms, and fostering relationships with local athletic teams. Delivering on-air sports reports, highlights, and live shots from field events, along with developing engaging feature stories.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- 3+ years of experience in the sports field. Proficiency in non-linear editing (Edius).
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field.
- Ability to work under tight, fast-paced deadlines and strong on-camera presence.
