Company Overview
AndHealth is a specialty care company that partners with Community Health Centers to bring whole-person specialty care and specialty pharmacy to the patients who have the hardest time getting it. We treat rheumatologic, dermatologic, neurologic, and infectious disease conditions across Ohio and Indiana, with a care model built for complex chronic disease rather than for volume.
Care is primarily virtual, anchored by our own platform, with periodic in-person visits at partner sites. Each patient is supported by a multidisciplinary team: the specialist physician, Advanced Practice Providers, Clinical Pharmacists, health coaches, patient navigators, and mobile phlebotomists. Alongside standard of care, patients receive support for lifestyle factors and social drivers of health, plus access to what insurance will not cover — medically tailored meals, supplements, and sleep and stress monitoring wearables — at no cost to them.
For physicians, the design is deliberate. Panels are sized for comprehensive disease management rather than throughput. Intakes are 60 minutes and follow-ups 30, with real protected administrative time. The work that surrounds a biologic is owned by people whose job it is, so the physician does the work only a physician can do.
Company History
AndHealth was founded in Columbus, Ohio in 2021 by Matt Scantland, who previously built and led CoverMyMeds. Several members of that leadership team joined him to work on a single problem: the patients who need specialty care most — Medicaid patients, rural patients, patients who have never seen a specialist — are the ones the current system reaches last.
The company began with migraine and autoimmune conditions, built around a model that pairs standard of care with support for lifestyle factors and social drivers of health. Rather than build a parallel system, AndHealth chose to work inside the one patients already use, partnering with Community Health Centers to place specialty care and specialty pharmacy where patients already receive their primary care.
The model now extends to four specialty lines — rheumatology, dermatology, neurology, and infectious disease — all running on the same care model and the same infrastructure. AndHealth serves patients across Ohio and Indiana from its headquarters in downtown Columbus.
