Company Profile
Galileo Learning
Company Overview
Galileo’s mission is to develop innovators who envision and create a better world, and we reach this mission through our unique pedagogy, the Galileo Innovation Approach. But our mission isn’t just to develop an innovator’s mindset in campers. We also give our summer staff the opportunity to learn and practice a comprehensive approach that promotes innovation, both in and outside of the classroom. We believe in the astounding power of this ripple effect. Our staff take these 21st century tools back to their school-year pursuits, sparking creativity in the students they teach and colleagues they inspire.
Company History
Before Stanford grad Glen Tripp established the first Galileo camp in Palo Alto in 2002, he wasn’t hearing much talk in the education world about design thinking, creative problem solving or innovation strategies. Glen and his co-conspirators saw a world that needed innovators and problem-solvers. They also saw a window of opportunity to complement what kids learn during the school year with a new and powerful experience—that of approaching learning fearlessly and creatively as innovators. The window was summer. And so Galileo was born.
Today, Galileo operates 50+ innovation camps around the Bay Area, in Southern California, and in Chicagoland. It's been more than 10 years and thousands of campers since our inception. We're successfully igniting a new generation of fearless innovators. We hope we're preparing each one of them to live a freer, happier life, and to make their own contribution to a brighter world we all can enjoy.
