Company Profile
Only About Kids Occupational Therapy
Company Overview
Only About Kids Occupational Therapy (OAK OT) is an allied health service in Caroline Springs, Victoria who work predominantly within the clinic space, but also offer intervention in the environment which most suits the child, i.e. school or kindergarten. The service begins with an initial appointment to meet the client, gather history information, and develop goals for intervention.
Our company name can be shortened to OAK OT which symbolises the amazing oak tree. Oak trees start off very small, as a little seedling inside of an acorn, and flourish into something much greater than their simple beginnings. An acorn has the potential to grow into an oak tree with the right nurture and guidance. If we provide the right environments with a just right challenge, acorns are fulfilled which enables them to become a wonderful oak tree.
No two oak trees are the same. Oak trees continue to grow and produce new branches and leaves of different shapes, colours and sizes, similar to the variety of skills learnt by children. Each of the colours in the tree of our logo represent all the different areas in which children develop including cognition, social and emotional development and fine and gross motor development.
Our focus is to provide education and coaching for parents, caregivers and teachers to implement strategies at home and outside of sessions, to help their children to meet their goals. We have a large focus on parent involvement in therapy sessions as we believe the greatest outcomes and progress will come from practice of strategies throughout their daily routines.
At OAK OT, we aim to nurture our little acorns and provide them with the life skills and knowledge to grow up to be big and strong. We want our acorns to be resilient, like oak trees when they need to weather a storm, and most of all we want them to enjoy their journey – after all, therapy is fun.
