Description
The City of Norwalk Law Director's office has an immediate opening for the position of Assistant Law Director. The responsibilities of this position primarily include prosecuting criminal and traffic cases in the Norwalk Municipal Court, providing legal advice to law enforcement officers related to the investigation and prosecution of criminal offenses, briefing and arguing appeals in the Sixth District Court of Appeals, and any other responsibilities that may be assigned by the Law Director. This is a full-time position, and no private practice is permitted. Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. Position includes OPERS pension; medical and life insurance; paid government holidays, as well as paid sick, vacation, and personal leave.

Requirements
Applicant must be a licensed Ohio attorney in good standing. Criminal law and courtroom experience are preferred but not required.
Applicant should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), LexisNexis, and Zoom.
