The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine ranked among the top 5 in NIH research funding. We are seeking a dedicated Radiation Oncologist at the Assistant/Associate Professor level (non-tenure track) to join our dynamic team and serve in our vibrant academic based practice at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.

State-of-the-Art Facility: The University of Maryland Medical Center is equipped with advanced radiation therapy technologies, and offers IMRT, SRS, SBRT, GYN brachytherapy, Prostate brachytherapy, Radiopharmaceutical therapy, hyperthermia, proton and GammaPod therapy.
Key Features of the Position:
Practice Location: The main patient care facility at the University of Maryland Medical Center in downtown Baltimore, within the University of Maryland Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center, is close to the main attractions of the Inner Harbor waterfront and professional sports stadiums.
Medical Physics Expertise: Led by Dr. Amit Sawant, Vice Chair of Physics Research, our Medical Physics team is robust, with over 30 faculty members, dosimetrists, and residents. Research initiatives in Flash, tumor motion management, and inter-fraction image guidance are well-supported. Our Division of Translational Radiation Sciences: Led by Dr. France Carrier, with a distinguished history of achievement and grant/contract funding in cellular responses to DNA damage, development of original preclinical models of radiation effects on normal tissue, and medical countermeasures research.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range: $238,250 - $560,945 based on experience and rank.

- Expected rank for this position will be Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank and tenure status will be commensurate with selected candidate’s experience.
Salary Information:
The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the Radiation Oncology faculty compensation program or pay from participation in Radiation Oncology variable compensation programs. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary range stated herein. For more information, please contact the hiring department.
The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on the University of Maryland School of Medicine’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training, and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.

About the Department:
The Department of Radiation Oncology offers exceptional patient care across eight locations, including the University of Maryland Medical Center and the Maryland Proton Treatment Center. Our department's clinical program includes 14 linear accelerators, a research linear accelerator, 6 multi-slice CT simulators, a proton therapy center, and GammaPod, alongside a variety of advanced treatments such as SRS/SBRT, radiopharmaceuticals, and hyperthermia therapy.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Radiology in Radiation Oncology.
- Eligibility for an unrestricted license in the State of Maryland.
- A medical degree from an accredited institution (domestic or foreign equivalent).
- Strong commitment to patient care, teaching, and working in a collaborative team environment.
