About the Opportunity
The University is seeking an exceptional leader to provide strategic direction for its alumni engagement portfolio, driving institution-wide initiatives that strengthen reputation, foster advocacy, and support long-term sustainability and growth.
As the University's principal alumni engagement leader, you will oversee engagement with a global community of more than 170,000 alumni across 139 countries, fostering lifelong connections, building advocacy, and creating pathways for philanthropic support. You will lead major strategic initiatives, cultivate high-value stakeholder relationships, and work in partnership with senior leaders to deliver meaningful institutional outcomes.
As a member of the Advancement Leadership Team, you will provide strategic advice, lead a high-performing team, and deliver transformational programs that enhance the University's impact and standing within the communities it serves. By fostering a globally connected and engaged alumni community, you will help drive the University's strategic priorities, enhance its standing and influence, and secure opportunities that support its future growth and success.
Requirements
Role Specific Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Relevant postgraduate qualification and extensive executive-level experience; or an equivalent combination of advanced qualifications, leadership experience and demonstrated organisational impact
- Extensive executive-level knowledge and experience implementing and leading large-scale alumni engagement, advancement, stakeholder engagement or related strategic portfolios.
- Excellent relationship management skills and demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate and collaborate with senior stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives.
- Demonstrated success leading organisational strategy, policy development, major programs and enterprise-wide change initiatives.
- Outstanding verbal, written and stakeholder communication skills.
- Demonstrated financial, workforce and resource management capability, including responsibility for significant budgets and strategic investment decisions.
- Strong analytical and reporting capability, including the use of data, engagement analytics and performance metrics to drive organisational outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and provide strategic advice in complex organisational environments.
- Significant experience working with Advancement CRM databases and engagement reporting systems.
Other Requirements
- Regular intrastate travel to Tasmanian campuses.
- Regular interstate travel.
- Occasional international travel.
