Veterinaria 24/7 is seeking a Board-Certified Veterinary Internist (DACVIM – SAIM) to join our growing medical team in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
This is an opportunity for an internist who wants more than simply step into an existing position. You will have the opportunity to help develop and shape a growing Internal Medicine service, supported by an established 24/7 emergency hospital, an experienced clinical team, and a strong caseload of emergency and referral patients.

Veterinaria 24/7 has provided continuous emergency veterinary care to the pets and families of Puerto Rico since 1998.
Our hospital operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing emergency medicine, hospitalization, advanced diagnostics, surgery, and critical patient management.
The Opportunity
As our Veterinary Internist, you will play an important role in the development and growth of our specialty Internal Medicine service.
The position provides the opportunity to:
- Manage a diverse caseload of complex medical and referral cases
- Provide consultations and advanced diagnostic evaluation for patients referred by veterinarians throughout Puerto Rico
- Collaborate closely with our emergency veterinarians and other veterinary professionals
- Manage hospitalized patients requiring advanced medical care and multidisciplinary case management
- Perform advanced Internal Medicine procedures based on your training, expertise, and clinical interests
- Develop strong relationships with referring veterinarians throughout Puerto Rico
- Help establish Internal Medicine protocols, equipment needs, diagnostic capabilities, and clinical standards
- Participate in the growth and strategic direction of the Internal Medicine service
- Mentor veterinarians, technicians, and other members of the clinical team

Requirements
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in Small Animal Internal Medicine (DACVIM – SAIM)
- Be eligible to practice veterinary medicine in Puerto Rico
- Demonstrate excellent diagnostic skills and clinical judgment
- Be comfortable managing complex and challenging medical cases
- Value collaboration with emergency clinicians and referring veterinarians
- Have strong communication and leadership skills
