The University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville General Surgery Residency Program has an unexpected categorical PGY-2 General Surgery position available from 11/1/2026.
We are seeking a motivated and qualified resident who is committed to excellence in patient care, surgical education, professionalism, and teamwork. The successful candidate will join a collegial and academically focused training environment with broad clinical and operative exposure.
Minimum Requirements for Interview Consideration
Applicants must meet ALL of the following requirements:
Successful completion of USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 on the first attempt. USMLE examinations are required for all applicants, including both MD and DO graduates.
A minimum of three letters of recommendation, including one letter from the current Surgery Chair at the applicant's medical school.
A High Pass or Honors grade in third-year Surgery core clerkships.
Successful completion of a preliminary or categorical PGY-1 year in an ACGME-accredited General Surgery residency program.
