Description

The Chorus Director provides artistic vision, leadership and musical direction for our non-audition chorus of 100+ singers. The ideal candidate will conduct weekly evening rehearsals, select engaging music for members of diverse backgrounds, and prepare the group for two major annual concerts. This role focuses on fostering a welcoming, inclusive and high-quality singing environment for community singers.

Requirements

Bachelor of Arts in Music degree or equivalent and 2 years of experience conducting a chorus/choir. Proven ability to effectively manage, teach, and inspire a large group of 100+ adult singers with diverse levels of musical diversity. Strong knowledge of adult vocal pedagogy, rehearsal techniques for non-audition singers, and varied repertoire. Excellent collaboration and organizational skills to work alongside a non-profit  Board of Directors.
