Octavius Finance is partnering with a leading boutique geopolitical advisory firm to appoint a Managing Director.

This is a senior leadership position combining client advisory, commercial leadership and operational transformation. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the firm's future offering, helping clients navigate geopolitical risk while driving the integration of AI-powered research, intelligence and advisory capabilities across the business.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead strategic advisory engagements for senior corporate, investment and institutional clients.
2. Drive business development and manage a portfolio of high-value client relationships.
3. Oversee the delivery of geopolitical, policy and strategic risk advisory projects.
4. Work closely with leadership to develop new products, services and client solutions.
5. Champion the adoption of AI across research, intelligence gathering, workflow automation and client delivery.
6. Help define how emerging technologies can enhance analytical capabilities and create competitive advantage for both the firm and its clients.
7. Lead and mentor teams across multiple offices and practice areas.

Candidate Profile

1. 12+ years' experience within strategy consulting, geopolitical advisory, management consulting, corporate strategy or a related field.
2. Proven track record managing senior client relationships and leading complex engagements.
3. Strong commercial instincts with experience originating and growing client mandates.
4. Demonstrated interest in AI, data-driven research and the application of technology to professional services.
5. Experience leading organisational change, transformation initiatives or innovation programmes is highly desirable.
6. Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills.
7. Degree and/or postgraduate qualification in International Relations, Economics, Political Science, Public Policy or a related discipline.
