Teva Community is a nonprofit creating safe, supported living for nonspeaking autistic people on 35 acres in the beautiful Prescott National Forest just five miles from downtown Prescott, Arizona. We are seeking a Director of Development who is energized by relationship-building, fundraising, volunteer engagement, and organizational growth. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role in shaping the organization's future while working alongside passionate volunteers, board members, donors, and community partners.
Position Summary
The Director of Development will lead Teva Community's fundraising strategy and execution, including a significant capital campaign that will support the organization's next phase of growth. Working closely with the Board of Directors, volunteer leaders, donors, and community stakeholders, this individual will cultivate meaningful relationships, strengthen fundraising capacity, and drive revenue generation across multiple channels.
This role offers a high degree of ownership and autonomy. The Director of Development will play a central role in advancing organizational goals while managing a broad portfolio of responsibilities spanning fundraising, donor engagement, volunteer leadership, special events, and capital campaign execution. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys building strategy while also rolling up their sleeves to execute plans, manage projects, engage donors, coordinate events, and move initiatives forward. This role is well-suited for a self-directed professional who is comfortable taking initiative, working independently, and balancing long-term vision with day-to-day execution.
What You'll Do
- Lead and execute a major capital campaign, including campaign planning, donor cultivation, solicitation strategies, communications, and stewardship efforts.
- Develop and implement annual and long-term fundraising plans that support organizational sustainability and growth.
Plan and execute fundraising events, sponsorship initiatives, and donor engagement activities. - Cultivate, steward, and advance relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, healthcare providers, and other key community stakeholders.
- Partner closely with Board members and volunteer leaders to strengthen fundraising effectiveness and expand organizational reach.
- Recruit, engage, recognize, and develop volunteers and future volunteer leaders.
- Build and manage a portfolio of donor, volunteer, and community relationships.
- Coordinate outreach efforts that increase mission awareness and community engagement.
- Identify opportunities, solve problems, and move projects forward with limited administrative support.
- Contribute to strategic planning and organizational growth initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of five years of nonprofit development, fundraising, or related experience.
- Demonstrated success leading fundraising initiatives and achieving revenue goals.
- Experience with capital campaigns, major gift fundraising, annual giving programs, or comprehensive development efforts.
- Proven ability to build and sustain strong donor, volunteer, and stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency with donor database and office software and other business technology tools.
- Ability to work independently while building strong partnerships across a variety of constituencies.
