About the role:
The Director of Human Resources serves as a strategic business partner and member of the management team, providing leadership, direction, and oversight for all Human Resources functions. This position develops and executes workforce strategies that support Riverwood's mission, vision, values, and strategic objectives while fostering an engaged, high-performing, and inclusive workplace culture. The Director plans, leads, develops, and administers Human Resources policies, programs, services, and staff, ensuring organizational effectiveness, regulatory compliance, and alignment with business and patient care goals.
The Director of HR is an expert in the field, with the broad capability to consult on all areas of HR programs including but not limited to: compensation, benefits, and leave; organizational development; employee relations, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigation; staffing, talent acquisition, performance, and management; productivity, recognition and morale; employee health and safety; and training and development.
Responsible to provide for the safety and quality of care, treatment, and services of all patients by working with other leaders to review and approve policies and procedures, solve problems, manage conflict, maintain ethical standards, and ensure practices that promote a Just Culture environment.

Riverwood Healthcare Center is a 25-bed Critical Access hospital with three full-service clinics in Aitkin, McGregor, and Garrison.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- At least five years of experience in Human Resources or a related field.
- Skills in: Needs assessment, program development, training, labor relations, wage and benefit analysis and development, communications, program evaluation and planning.
