OverviewIronwood Country Club - Palm Desert, California
Ironwood Country Club is seeking an experienced, energetic, and highly motivated Director of Instruction to lead and elevate the Club's golf instruction programs. This individual will develop a comprehensive instructional platform for golfers of all skill levels while delivering an exceptional experience consistent with the standards of a premier private country club.
The ideal candidate combines exceptional teaching ability with strong program development, communication, technology, and member-service skills. The Director of Instruction will provide outstanding individual instruction while creating engaging clinics, schools, player-development programs, and other opportunities for Ironwood membership.

The Director of Instruction will play an important role in advancing that mission by creating an instructional environment where members can improve their games, develop confidence, build relationships, and increase their enjoyment of golf.
Experience Required
Qualifications
- PGA or LPGA membership, or progress toward recognized professional certification, preferred.
- Demonstrated success as a golf instructor, teaching professional, or Director of Instruction.
- Strong knowledge of full-swing, short-game, putting, course-management, and player-development principles.
- High proficiency with TrackMan and the ability to interpret and explain relevant club and ball data in a clear, member-friendly manner.
- Experience with current instructional technology, video analysis, training aids, and modern player-development methods.
- Demonstrated ability to create, organize, promote, and execute successful instructional programs and clinics.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- A service-oriented mindset and an understanding of the expectations of a high-end private club.
- Ability to develop long-term member relationships and become a visible, trusted member of the Ironwood Golf Professional Staff.
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development.

Essential Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities
The Director of Instruction will:
- Develop, implement, and continually enhance a comprehensive golf instruction program serving the diverse needs of the Ironwood membership.
- Provide customized individual, semi-private, group, playing, short-game, and on-course instruction to golfers ranging from beginners to highly accomplished players.
- Create and lead clinics, golf schools, specialty programs, and player-development pathways that encourage participation and continued improvement.
- Use TrackMan and other instructional technologies, including video analysis and putting tools, to evaluate performance, communicate findings clearly, and support measurable progress.
- Incorporate training aids and technology appropriately while maintaining sound teaching fundamentals and an individualized approach based on each player's goals, abilities, and learning style.
- Stay current with developments in golf instruction, biomechanics, equipment, club fitting, performance analysis, and player development.
- Maintain appropriate student records and provide follow-up to support ongoing improvement.
- Build strong, lasting relationships with members and foster a welcoming, professional, positive, and enjoyable instructional environment.
- Collaborate with the Director of Golf and Golf Professional Staff to align instructional programming with the Club's overall golf operation.
- Promote instructional opportunities through Club communications, events, demonstrations, and member engagement.
- Assist in developing Assistant Golf Professionals instructional knowledge.
- Represent Ironwood Country Club with the highest standards of professionalism, service, appearance, and integrity.
