Community Medical Center Seeks an Experienced Director of Surgical Services to Lead and Advance Perioperative Excellence in Missoula, Montana!
The Position
The Director of Surgical Services is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for perioperative services at Community Medical Center, overseeing six ORs.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this leader will oversee four direct reports and approximately 35 FTEs.
Key priorities include providing stability and highly visible leadership, strengthening relationships with staff and physicians, improving scheduling, efficiency, productivity, and accountability, and developing departmental leaders to support strong operational performance and continued growth across Surgical Services.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Surgical Services leader who is highly visible, hands-on, and relationship-driven, with the ability to quickly build trust across the department. This individual should be a confident decision-maker who engages closely with staff and physicians, mentors emerging leaders, and is comfortable stepping into operations when needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
Active RN license required.
Previous Director-level leadership experience required.
Hands-on intraoperative/operating room experience and previous leadership experience within a unionized nursing environment required.
