Job Summary
The Executive Director for Post Award Grant Operations is responsible for overseeing the financial management of grants, ensuring compliance with funding rules, and providing financial oversight for grant-funded programs. Key duties include ensuring budgets and related forecasts are developed and maintained, monitoring grant revenues and expenditures, monitoring grant receivables, preparing financial reports, managing grant closings, managing grant accountants, and supervising monthly close procedures including reconciliations. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and grant-specific regulations like Uniform Guidance.
Job Duties
The Executive Direct will oversee the Restricted Funds Accounting team as well as 3 Grant Business Officer's. This position will have a dual reporting structure to the AVP for Finance & Administration and the AVP for Research, with primary reporting and administration by the AVP for F&A.
Skills and qualifications.
- Strong knowledge of budget and accounting principles, including grant budgeting & forecasting, financial reporting and reconciliation.
- Familiarity with grant-specific regulations, including Uniform Guidance and other federal/state rules.
- Proficiency with grants module, accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong team management skills.
Requested Minimum Qualifications
Education:
A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related filed from an accredited college or university is required.
Experience:
At least eight (8) years of Grant Budgeting and Accounting experience and public accounting experience is required.
Other Preferences for Consideration
Preferences:
- Experience with higher education or non-profit highly desired.
- High functioning knowledge of Excel and understanding financial reporting and grant management systems and processes.
- CPA
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Additional training in GAS and GASB and Single Audit.
CPA preferred.
