The Wilfandel Club, founded in 1945, is one of Los Angeles’ most historic and respected Black women’s organizations. For more than 80 years, the Club has advanced educational, cultural, and civic engagement initiatives while preserving a treasured historic clubhouse that serves as a gathering place for community, celebration, and impact. As it prepares to execute its 2025–2030 Strategic Plan, the Wilfandel is entering an exciting new chapter of growth and transformation.
The Wilfandel seeks its first Executive Director to serve as the Club’s inaugural professional leader and strategic partner to the Board of Directors. This is a fundraising-focused leadership position and the organization’s most senior development professional. The Executive Director will develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy, expand individual giving, major gifts, foundation support, and corporate sponsorships, and steward transformational philanthropic investments—including a Mellon Foundation grant. Working with the Board and the Ways & Means & Grants Committee, the Executive Director will build sustainable revenue to support the operating budget, staffing structure, and long-term strategic objectives, targeting approximately $250,000 annually while advancing a multi-year property rehabilitation initiative estimated at approximately $2.3 million.
This position begins as a part-time role averaging approximately 20 hours per week. The starting salary is up to $60,000 and is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and mission-driven leader with five to ten years of progressively responsible nonprofit leadership, fundraising, or development experience. They should have a demonstrated track record of securing philanthropic support, cultivating and stewarding donors, and working effectively with multigenerational volunteer boards and community stakeholders. Familiarity with historic preservation, cultural institutions, or community-based nonprofits, and established relationships within Los Angeles’ philanthropic, civic, and cultural communities, are strongly preferred.
