Description
The Executive Director of the Cascade County Law acts as the Chief Executive Officer of the corporation. In this capacity the Executive Director is responsible for implementation of policies set by the Board of Directors as well as annual goals and objectives, financial, program, and administrative management of the corporation. Guidance and direction is provided by the Board of Directors.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for overall leadership of staff in the development and implementation of short and long range plans and policies and other activities.
- Responsible for the financial management of the corporation, including the development and implementation of the annual budget.
- Research and prepare grant proposals and other funding applications.
- Work with Board of Directors on any fund-raising events or activities.
- Prepare monthly reports for the Board meetings and an end-of-year report documenting program statistics and program evaluation for the year.
- Oversee compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Oversee potential law clinic programs.
- Assist the Board in developing and initiating annual goals and objectives for the Program.
- Monitor progress toward meeting annual goals and keep Board informed.
- Keep informed of all relevant activities of the program including state-wide pro bono programs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLILITES: Responsibilities for supervision of volunteer and paid staff.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and education in the following areas: non-profit association experience, grant writing experience, administrative experience, and a general knowledge of pro bono legal work. A Juris Doctor degree is preferred but not required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Communicate effectively in both written and oral form; and, effectively present information to Grantors, the public, and the Board of Directors.
