For nearly five decades, People Attentive to Children (PATCH) has worked to strengthen the quality and availability of child care throughout Hawaii. As Hawaii’s statewide Child Care Resource and Referral agency, PATCH supports families, child care providers, early childhood professionals, and community partners through resources, training and professional development, scholarships, workforce initiatives, and the Hawaii Early Childhood Registry.
PATCH is seeking a strategic, accomplished, and relationship-centered Executive Director to lead the organization into its next chapter. Reporting to the Governing Board, the Executive Director serves as PATCH’s chief executive leader and provides strategic and organizational leadership across programs, people, operations, financial resources, partnerships, and statewide initiatives.
What You’ll Lead
The Executive Director will:
Provide strategic direction and executive leadership while partnering with the Governing Board and PATCH Management.
Oversee organizational operations, programs, workforce, financial performance, contracts, grants, and organizational resources.
Strengthen PATCH’s role and relationships across Hawaii’s early childhood education and child care system.
Build trusted partnerships with government agencies, funders, providers, educational institutions, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
Advance workforce development, data and technology, training and professional development, funding sustainability, and thoughtful organizational growth.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Human Services, Social Work, Public Administration, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible leadership experience, including at least 5 years in management or senior leadership.
- Leadership experience in early childhood education, child care, human services, education, nonprofit, community-based, or a closely related setting.
- Experience overseeing operations, budgets, contracts or grants, organizational resources, and strategic initiatives.
- Strong relationship-building, communication, strategic thinking, and organizational leadership skills.
- Knowledge of Hawaii’s early childhood education and child care system is highly desired.
