KWBE and News Channel Nebraska are seeking a high-energy storyteller to serve as the Voice of Beatrice High sports and report on local news in southeast Nebraska.

This role includes radio and TV play-by-play, daily sports and news updates, and video news reporting. It offers the opportunity to become the top source of information in a community passionate about sports and local news. You’ll call the biggest moments live and tell the stories behind them across radio, TV, and digital platforms.

Radio play-by-play for Beatrice High athletics

TV play-by-play for Doane University (NAIA) football home games

Monday-Friday radio news and sports updates

Local news reporting for web, TV, and radio

Coverage of breaking news and severe weather events

Build relationships to become the trusted voice of the community

Characteristics

Self-motivated

Driven to succeed in broadcasting

Detail-oriented

Strong interpersonal skills

Able to perform under deadline pressure

 Qualifications:

Degree in broadcast journalism preferred

Demonstrated play-by-play experience

Ability to write at a professional level

Understanding of social media and digital platforms

Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Beatrice, Neb.
