Massage Therapy Instructor (W-2, Paid Teaching Role)
Boulder School of Massage Therapy — Boulder, Colorado (In-Person)
Teach the next generation of massage therapists—intentionally.
Boulder School of Massage Therapy is building something: a high-integrity, student-centered training program grounded in skill, professionalism, and real clinical readiness.
We’re hiring instructors who don’t just know massage—they can demonstrate it, teach it, and develop it in others.
What This Role Really Is
This is not a passive teaching job.
You are:
Coaching hands-on skill development
Shaping professional identity
Setting the standard for what massage therapy feels like in the body
Nurturing a critical thinking mentality in the student body
Our instructional approach aligns with standards recognized by the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation—but more importantly, it’s grounded in what actually makes students competent and confident in real practice.
Compensation (Transparent + Competitive)
$40-50 per course clock hour (W-2 employee)
Biweekly payroll
$35 paid stipends for faculty meetings and school events
Predictable scheduling based on course assignments
What You’ll Do
You will:
Teach in a Way That Actually Lands
Deliver structured, clear, hands-on instruction
Demonstrate techniques and coach students in real time
Adjust based on what students are actually understanding—not just what’s on the syllabus
Develop Real Practitioners
Train body mechanics, touch quality, and clinical thinking
Give direct, respectful, actionable feedback
Help students build confidence through repetition and correction
Hold Standards
Track attendance and student progress
Submit grades in a timely manner
Maintain clear, professional communication
Be Part of the Faculty (Not Just a Contractor Passing Through)
Attend faculty meetings (paid)
Participate in at least one community event annually (paid)
Contribute to a culture of professionalism and accountability
Who This Is For
You’ll likely thrive here if you:
Care deeply about doing work well—not just getting through material
Naturally coach, correct, and encourage others
Have strong hands-on skill and body mechanics awareness
Can hold a room with both authority and approachability
Want to be part of building a program—not just filling a role

Final Note (Read This)
We are selective.
Not because we’re trying to be exclusive—but because students deserve instructors who take this seriously.
If you’re looking for:
An easy, low-engagement teaching role → this is not it
A place to share your craft, develop others, and hold a high bar → we’d like to meet you
