Medical Director - Ben Taub Hospita

The Henry J.N. Taub Department of Emergency Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston is seeking an experienced medical director for emergency medicine at Ben Taub, a public hospital with about 80,000 annual emergency visits and certified stroke, STEMI and Level 1 trauma programs.

KEY DUTIES INCLUDE
Clinical and Service Operations
Ensure the ED care delivery model achieves high-quality emergency care and evolves to match the needs of the patients; ensure that medical staff policies support the department and hospital vision for ED care; lead quality assurance and improvement initiatives; monitor patient experience and patient flow. 

Regulatory
Ensure ongoing regulatory compliance and prepare for accreditation or certification surveys involving the ED.

Liaison Relationships
Ensure effective communication between ED and hospital medical staff; membership in or chair hospital committees as appropriate. 
Recruitment/Orientation
Engage in recruitment of qualified emergency care providers, assuring appropriate credentialing, orientation, and training of providers

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree
• Board certification in emergency medicine
• Successful completion of an Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course 
• Strong skills in staff management, supervision, teaching, instruction and organizational development
• Strong skills in data analytics and clinical practice management
• Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills
• Prior leadership and administrative experience
