ATS is a registered NDIS provider and delivers therapeutic services across a range of funding streams - including WorkCover QLD, Comcare, NIISQ, private health and as an Associated Provider for aged care. About the role
As a Paediatric Occupational Therapist in our Cairns clinic, you'll deliver high-quality therapy services to children, their families, carers and support networks. You'll work both in-clinic and in the community (homes, schools, early childhood centres) depending on client needs.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Conducting comprehensive paediatric assessments (e.g., sensory processing, fine/gross motor, self-care, school readiness, functional capacity)
- Developing individualised therapy plans, goals and intervention strategies in collaboration with families
- Writing clear, timely reports within company timeframes
- Delivering evidence-based intervention across clinic, home, school and community settings
- Collaborating with families, educators, support workers and other health professionals to achieve the best outcomes for each child
- Contributing to the development of specialist resources, training and information programs for families and support agencies
- Maintaining accurate client records and documentation in line with NDIS Practice
- Standards and company procedures
- Supervising Allied Health Assistants where applicable
At least 70% of your calendar time will be dedicated to client-facing, billable service delivery.
Requirements
What you'll bring
Essential:
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy from a recognised university
- Current AHPRA registration
- Experience (or a strong interest) in paediatric occupational therapy
- Current Yellow Card (Disability Worker Screening) or willingness to obtain
- Current and unrestricted driver's licence
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills - written and verbal
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
- A genuine passion for working with children and families
- Commercially aware approach - understanding the importance of financial viability in a private practice setting
Desirable:
- Experience working within the NDIS
- Familiarity with common paediatric assessment tools
- Experience delivering services in regional or remote communities

Important information
Location: Cairns, QLD - this is an on-site role.
Hours: Part-time, 3 days per week (days negotiable)
Travel: Occasional travel within the Cairns region to deliver community-based services. There are potential opportunities for outreach where interested.
