Occupational Therapy Services at Hospitals North West provide high-quality, client-centred occupational therapy to inpatients, outpatients and community clients across the North West region of Tasmania.
The team works as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare environment, supporting consumers across medical, surgical, rehabilitation and orthopaedic services, as well as paediatrics and community-based programs. As part of the Department of Health, the service is committed to delivering safe, inclusive and evidence-based care to improve outcomes for individuals, families and the broader Tasmanian community.
The team values collaboration, learning and professional growth, and provides structured supervision and support to enable clinicians to develop strong, well-rounded clinical skills.
The Role:
This role would suit a new graduate or an experienced Occupational Therapist, offering a supported development program within Occupational Therapy Services. You will have the opportunity to rotate across a range of service areas, building clinical capability through a diverse caseload and a strong community focus.
The position offers structured supervision and professional support, making it ideal for clinicians early in their career, while also providing scope for experienced therapists to further develop and diversify their skills.
In this role, you will:
Deliver Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions for inpatients, outpatients and community clients across a rotating caseload
Work collaboratively with senior occupational therapists and multidisciplinary team members to achieve positive client outcomes
Participate in professional development, quality improvement initiatives and service planning activities in line with departmental priorities
This position offers structured support and supervision, making it well suited to clinicians early in their career, while also providing scope for experienced therapists to further develop and diversify their skills.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, part time, day worker position, working 53.2 hours per fortnight, Commencing ASAP.
*Additional hours may be available on a fixed-term basis, depending on service needs.
Salary: $73,834 to $111,364 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Allowances:
- In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

Requirements
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Occupational Board of Australia
- Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
- Current Working with Children Registration
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Post-graduate qualifications relevant to the delivery of Occupational Therapy Services
