Oculoplastic Surgeon

Medical Director / Practice Owner
Position Summary
The Oculoplastic Surgeon is responsible for providing comprehensive medical and surgical care for disorders of the eyelids, orbit, tear drainage system, and periocular facial structures. This role includes both reconstructive and cosmetic procedures, patient consultations, treatment planning, surgery, postoperative care, and collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare providers.
Essential Functions
Clinical Care
Conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop treatment plans.
Manage patients with eyelid malpositions, orbital disease, lacrimal disorders, facial trauma, and periocular tumors.
Provide preoperative and postoperative patient care.
Surgical Responsibilities
Perform advanced oculoplastic surgical procedures.
Utilize evidence-based techniques and maintain excellent surgical outcomes.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer review activities.
Cosmetic Services
Offer aesthetic consultations and treatment recommendations.
Perform injectable treatments and cosmetic surgical procedures.
Educate patients regarding treatment options and expected outcomes.
Practice Development
Build referral relationships with ophthalmologists, optometrists, dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and primary care providers.
Participate in marketing events, educational seminars, and community outreach efforts.
Support growth initiatives for the oculoplastic and aesthetic service lines.
Administrative Duties
Complete medical records accurately and promptly.
Adhere to compliance, credentialing, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain professional licensure and continuing education requirements.

We are a growing, patient centered ophthalmology practice dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. We are seeking a fellowship-trained Oculoplastic Surgeon to join our multidisciplinary team. This is an excellent opportunity to build and expand a comprehensive oculoplastic practice while collaborating with experienced ophthalmologists, optometrists, and support staff.
Position Overview
The Oculoplastic Surgeon will diagnose and treat conditions affecting the eyelids, orbit, lacrimal system, and facial structures surrounding the eyes. The ideal candidate will provide both reconstructive and cosmetic surgical services while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat functional and cosmetic oculoplastic conditions.
Perform surgical procedures including:
Blepharoplasty (upper and lower eyelids)
Ptosis repair
Entropion and ectropion correction
Brow lifts
Orbital surgery
Lacrimal (tear duct) procedures
Eyelid and facial reconstruction
Skin cancer reconstruction and Mohs closures
Provide non-surgical aesthetic treatments such as:
Botox® and neuromodulators
Dermal fillers
Collaborate with referring physicians and internal providers.
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
Participate in practice growth initiatives and community outreach.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and quality standards.
Qualifications
Required
MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
Completion of an accredited Ophthalmology Residency.
Fellowship training in Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology.
Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Minnesota
Strong surgical skills and commitment to outstanding patient outcomes.
Preferred
Experience in cosmetic facial procedures.
