What Your Practice Looks Like
As an Outpatient Physical Therapist, you'll work with a wide variety of adult patients recovering from injury, illness, and surgery. You'll help patients restore mobility, improve function, reduce pain, and return to the activities that matter most.
Common patient populations include:
- Orthopedic injuries and conditions
- Post-surgical rehabilitation
- Joint replacements
- Balance and fall prevention
- Neurological conditions
- Gait and mobility impairments
- Chronic pain and functional limitations
- General strengthening and conditioning
You'll have the opportunity to deliver individualized care while collaborating with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other members of the healthcare team.
What You'll Do
- Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient goals and clinical findings
- Deliver evidence-based interventions designed to improve strength, mobility, balance, endurance, and functional independence
- Provide therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, gait training, balance training, and patient education
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote optimal patient outcomes
- Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge recommendations
- Participate in care coordination and discharge planning to support successful patient recovery

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program
- Current Tennessee Physical Therapist license or license eligibility
- Outpatient rehabilitation experience preferred but not required
- Strong communication and patient education skills

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Contributes effectively to designated team(s), Hospital goals and performance improvement activities in order to achieve Hospital mission
• Provides for a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and coworkers

• Demonstrates safe and effective treatment/ management of performance areas with all assigned patients
