- Postdoctoral Fellow
Description
As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you will contribute to an NIH-funded research program on women’s brain health at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine (RF1AG098531). This multidisciplinary project, led by Drs Erika Raven and Jelle Veraart, seeks to improve women’s brain health by identifying why the menopause transition may increase risk for cognitive decline and Alzheimer’s disease. Using longitudinal neuroimaging, plasma proteomics, and detailed clinical assessments across multiple cohorts, the study examines how hormonal changes and menopausal hormone therapy influence brain aging and cognitive outcomes. The goal is to identify sex-specific biomarkers and risk profiles that support earlier detection, more precise prevention, and clinically meaningful strategies to protect women’s health across midlife and aging.
Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Develop and apply computational and statistical methods for analyzing multimodal biomedical data, including clinical, survey, multi-omics, and neuroimaging data
- Interpret and evaluate findings in close collaboration with clinicians, epidemiologists, and data scientists
- Contribute to study design, analytic strategy, and biomarker discovery efforts across multiple cohorts
- Lead and co-author manuscripts arising from the research and present findings at national and international scientific conferences
Environment
Join a vibrant community of graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, engineers, basic scientists, and clinicians at one of the most dynamic academic medical centers in the world
Engage in interdisciplinary collaborations with leading physicians and scientists across Radiology, Population Health, Endocrinology, and Gynecology at NYU Langone Health, an institution widely recognized for excellence in research, innovation, and patient care
