Dr. Sophia T. Chen’s ophthalmology practice in Oakland, California is seeking a comprehensive or fellowship trained Ophthalmologist to join a respected community-based practice with deep roots in the East Bay. For many years, the practice has provided thoughtful, personalized ophthalmic care to a diverse and multigenerational patient population, with a particular focus on serving Oakland’s Chinese-speaking community. The practice provides a broad scope of medical and surgical ophthalmology services, including the opportunity to do 500 cataract surgeries per year, glaucoma management, diabetic eye disease evaluation, and comprehensive eye care. Requirements
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive ophthalmic examinations and diagnostic evaluations
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of ocular conditions and diseases
- Develop individualized treatment plans and provide patient education
- Perform surgical procedures consistent with training and experience
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Collaborate closely with clinical staff and referring providers to ensure continuity of care
- Uphold high standards of patient care, professionalism, and clinical quality
Qualifications
- Speaking proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin is preferred
- MD or DO from an accredited medical institution
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology
- Eligible for California medical licensure
- Strong clinical judgment and surgical capabilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
