Description
Job Description- The Project Manager will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that healthcare initiatives are executed efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall success of UNSOS missions.
- This role emphasizes clinical governance, ensuring patient safety, continuous quality improvement, and compliance with evidence-based contemporary guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of healthcare projects, ensuring alignment with clinical governance standards and UNSOS policies.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers, clinical teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that all project activities support high-quality patient care.
- Monitor and ensure that all project components adhere to clinical protocols, patient safety standards, and operational procedures.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of project activities to ensure compliance with clinical governance frameworks and regulations.
- Provide leadership and guidance to healthcare teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration in delivering project objectives.
- Develop and implement project plans that prioritize patient safety, and the quality of healthcare services delivered within the scope of UNSOS projects.
- Work with clinical and support teams to ensure that safety protocols, infection control measures, and medical standards are followed throughout the lifecycle of each project.
- Regularly assess project performance and outcomes, identifying risks and taking corrective actions to improve the quality and safety of services.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of any adverse events, incidents, or safety concerns during the course of the project.
- Support the creation and implementation of safety guidelines related to new project initiatives, ensuring that all risks are assessed and mitigated.
- Actively participate in and contribute to ongoing continuous quality improvement initiatives across UNSOS healthcare projects.
- Collect and analyze data on project performance, patient outcomes, and service quality to identify areas for improvement.
- Encourage and implement best practices in project management and healthcare delivery, ensuring that lessons learned from previous projects are integrated into new initiatives.
- Facilitate team meetings and discussions to identify opportunities for improving healthcare service delivery, operational efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development among project team members, encouraging the adoption of innovative solutions to enhance healthcare project outcomes.
- Ensure that all project activities, particularly those related to healthcare delivery, are in compliance with evidence-based guidelines and international best practices.
- Regularly review and update project protocols to reflect the latest clinical and operational guidelines from reputable organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and other relevant bodies.
- Collaborate with clinical experts and healthcare providers to ensure that patient care activities within the project align with the most up-to-date, evidence-based practices.
- Ensure that all project documentation, including policies, procedures, and reports, reflects compliance with current medical guidelines and industry standards.
- Track developments in global health and project management to ensure that UNSOS projects continue to align with emerging trends, regulations, and evidence-based practices.
- Promote ethical behaviour and alignment with Aspen Medical's Social Purpose and B Corp principles.
- Perform any additional tasks and responsibilities as required by the role or organisation.
Qualifications
- Selection Criteria
- Clinical professional such as medical doctor or Batchelor degree education in health-related fields (Nursing, Clinical Laboratory, Physiotherapy).
- Post graduate training in Healthcare Management/Administration or Business Administration at Masters level.
- Five years in managing health care services at international level.
- Must be fluent in spoken and written English.
- Experience in international, humanitarian, or conflict-zone healthcare settings.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with project data analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge of international standards and guidelines in healthcare management.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are an asset.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to project management.
- Shifts: Flexible working hours, with the expectation to work weekends, holidays, and night shifts when required 24/7.
- Location: The role is based in Somalia within the UNSOS mission area.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as standing for extended periods in high stress conditions and managing physically intensive situations.
- Experience in international, humanitarian, or conflict-zone healthcare settings.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with project data analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge of international standards and guidelines in healthcare management.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are an asset.
