Senior Certified Ophthalmic Retina Technician (CRT or COT Required)

Retina Associates is seeking a motivated Senior Certified Ophthalmic Retina Technician (CRT or COT) to join our retina specialty team. This role is ideal for a professional who is passionate about patient care, clinical excellence, and supporting the diagnosis and treatment of complex retinal diseases.

Responsibilities

• Perform retina patient workups appropriate to training and experience
• Support OCT, fundus photography, retinal imaging, and diagnostic testing workflows
• Assist with patient preparation for examinations, treatments, and in-office procedures
• Document clinical information in the EMR and support physician documentation workflows
• Educate patients on testing, procedures, follow-up care, and treatment instructions
• Maintain accurate records and support efficient patient flow

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• Current Certified Retina Technician (CRT) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) required
• 5+ years of retina experience required
• Advanced experience and/or specific certification with OCT, fundus photography, retinal imaging, injection support, patient workups, and EMR documentation required
• Strong EMR documentation and scribing skills required
• Excellent communication and patient service skills
• Professional, dependable, and team-oriented attitude

Certification Timeline

• Certified Retina Technician (CRT) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT): Required at hire and must remain active throughout employment.
  Ongoing certification maintenance, continuing education, and retina-specific professional development are expected.
  The practice provides training, mentoring, continuing education support, and certification support for professional advancement.
